This whole ground station consist of two independent crossed yagi antenna with centre frequencies 437 MHz and 145 MHz in order to measure the angle of polarization and intensities of the signal at two feeds of a antenna which is to be mounted on the roof which will be able to rotate in 0 to 90 degree in elevation plane and 0 to 360 degree in azimuthal plane clockwise and anticlockwise sequentially. For this purpose we are using the stepper motor and its microcontroller interface instead of rotor and ARS(as antenna rotating system and rotor will cost much for our low cost ground station).Whenever this satellite will pass over our ground station then only we will be able to receive the signal through these two different cross yagi antennas and these signals will be feeded to the polarization circuit(IC AD8302) through LNA which is further connected to A/D converter and processed by microcontroller for a particular code provided by IITB students. This is all about our project but the most interesting and challenging aspect of this is that we learned how to design an antenna and we are trying to develop satellite tracking mechanism by our own.
